OVL Mourns The Death Of The Governor Of Sakhalin, Who Died In An Air Crash On 20th August 2003, OVL, New Delhi 26 August, 2003 We, in OVL, are deeply shocked over the helicopter accident, in which 20 valuable lives were lost on 20th August, 2003.We condole this tragic loss of lives. Mr Igor Farkhutdinov, the Governor of Sakhalin was also traveling in the ill-fated chopper.Under his leadership Sakhalin had acquired recognition as one of the foremost oil & gas regions, not only of Russia, but also of the world as such. He encouraged entry of far fledged companies like ours in Sakhalin. He was a brave and competent leader and his tragic loss in this most unfortunate accident is irreparable. Our hearts go out in spontaneous grief to all the members of the bereaved family. There are no words, which could be of any solace to them and yet we offer our sincere and profound prayers to the Lord that he may bestow sufficient strength and fortitude on his family to sustain them through this sudden and tragic bereavement.
